This island’s mine!

November 8, 2019

Totally immersion in The Tempest this week has been enriching, creative, enlightening and great fun.  The children will have shared with you that we have acted, choreographed, written, danced, diarised, conjectured, predicted, collaged, painted and laughed.  The learning has been fabulous.

We look forward to sharing our learning journeys from the week with you soon.

Next Week:   Focus on compassion and empathy

Monday:  We will be marking the 2 minutes silence for Remembrance as a whole school in the Inner Circle.  Each child has made a poppy.

Monday:  Song writing Workshop

Tuesday: AntiBullying/Odd Socks Day:  Please can your child wear Odd Socks for the day to celebrate what makes us all unique.  We will also be launching a poster competition on that day with the best entries being printed for display around the school.

Wednesday:  World Kindness Day.  Perhaps you can discuss with your child what kind deed they could consider on the day that is over and above what they normally do.

Wednesday:  Learning Conversations

Friday:  Children in Need Day (www.bbcchildreninneed.co.uk).  We are not dressing up but if your child wishes to contribute a donation to this charity, please pass the money to their class teacher by the end of the week.

We are pleased to be a part of the Cambridge Zero (www.zero.cam.ac.uk) initiative. Our involvement will include a Climate Change Art project in which the children in Years 4, 5 and 6 will all be contributing to an installation.  Workshops for this will take place for both classes next week.

Guided Reading:

We will be looking at part of an article about David Attenborough’s  brilliant Seven Worlds, One Planet series BBC Wildlife Nov19

We look forward to meeting you all next week at Learning Conversations.
