We are immersing ourselves in Kensuke’s Kingdom by Michael Morpurgo. As we read the book it became apparent that a chapter of the book was missing; so we have become authors to re-write the missing part, with some fabulous results.
As we have learnt about Kensuke’s island home, we have focussed on the features of a map and how to use coordinates.
In maths, we have been adding and subtracting using estimation and have begun column addition with regrouping using 4 digit numbers.Maths missing numbers
We have also been working scientifically throughout an investigation into friction produced between a car and a ramp covered in different materials.
In guided reading we will be focusing on this fiction text I was a Rat Philip Pullman
