We enjoyed sharing our newfound drumming skills in assembly this week:
The children all learnt and practised gymnastic techniques in Little Gym:
In PSHE we thought about the importance of first impressions and presenting our best selves. We also considered and reflected on which attributes we wanted to demonstrate to other people when we met them and how we could do that. A secure starting place is having friendly open faces as I think you’ll agree.
And we had great fun voting on our new class book: The Last Chance Hotel by Nicki Thornton. It has started well!
We have finished our blogs: examples here:
In maths we looked at measure, and calculating perimeter and area. More practice and playing with the concepts here: Area and Perimeter nRich
We are all looking forward to World Book Day on Thursday 7th March. This day will be all about books and enjoying the right to read anywhere. We are already planning some great activities but would be really grateful if you could help us: if you have any old books (in good condition) that you would like to donate to school, we will use them in our book hunt activity (details to follow) and if we have enough books donated, we will also make a pop up library. If you are kind enough to donate, it would be amazingly helpful if the books could be individually wrapped to hide the front cover. However, we would be grateful for any donations wrapped or unwrapped.
Thank you in advance for your support and we cannot wait for World Book Day!
This should be a great day and truly promote our reading for pleasure culture and ethos.
Week commencing Monday 25th February:
Monday: BMX Workshop with Mike Mullen
Thursday: Swimming lessons continue
Enjoy a wonderful half term break.
