All things fantastical

June 29, 2018

We have chosen new poems at LAMDA this week and will be working on these for the rest of term.  Copies have come home.  The children do not need to learn these off by heart by it would help if they could read them through with you and make themselves really familiar with them.

In Maths, the children have enjoyed surveying their peers and creatively displaying their data.  Surveys included favourite sport, numbers of pets and preferred fantasy animals.  Brilliant.

We thoroughly enjoyed participating in the ARTBASH project.  We drew, designed and graffiti-ed our way through the morning; and cannot wait to see the final installation (a visual representation of the school’s values) in the dining room.

Comics are being finished and peer assessed and will be on display at Family Friday.

In Science, we have continued working in teams to investigate the effect of moving an object from a light source on the size of the shadow.  We had some problems to solve which developed our understanding of the investigation process.

The children are working together on creating their own shadow puppet performance based on the ancient art of Chinese shadow puppetry – so far they have researched ideas, planned storylines, drafted scripts and practised drawing the puppet shapes. Dragons abound.
